THINK TANK on Collective Intelligence

Project description

The project ideareflects European Commision recommended Work Programm 2013 for information and communication technologies management. Surveys conducted by analysts such as Forrester Research (2012) demonstrate that social technologies continue to grow in popularity inside the society and these developments will have an influence on policies and drive economic and societal changes. Therefore it`s very important to stimulate and support the emergence of innovative social technology based networks (platforms) for developing and fostering collective  intelligence and awareness in modern society, providing social, economical and legall approaches and solutions to tackle societal changes in networked society.

The recent successes of systems like Google, Wikipedia or InnoCentive suggest that the time is now ripe for many more such systems, and the goal of the research is to understand how to take advantage of these possibilities to tackle societal challenges.

Thescientific problem is defined as a question: how social technologies could contribute to the development of collective intelligence in networked society? The answers to these are theoretical questions can have huge practical implications. The research will identify and analyse what are the conditions that lead society and communities to become more collectively intelligent. Better understanding of this assumptions could influence more reasonable application of social technologies in practise. Exploring the potential of collective intelligence could help communities become more productive and help societies solve their problems more effectively.

Because of the complexity of the scientific problem the original approachto the interaction of social and technological sciences will be adapted, based on the synergy of researchers competencies.  The computer based dynamic model of KI system will be developed and scientific virtual environment for application of CI monitoring  will be established as a result of scientific research.
